WAVERLY OPINIONS WELCOME

Many of you probably know that Wellington is updating its Comprehensive Plan that involves assessing the current status of town components, visions for its future, and plans on how to get there. It also involves determining its Growth Management Area (GMA) with relative proximity to the Waverly Community.Wellington officials invited members of the Waverly Community Board to meet in March with the Planning Director to pass on their thoughts, ideas, and concerns from a perspective of living in Waverly and what some of the perceptions might be in desiring to protect a rural lifestyle and land use pattern or not.Notes from that meeting can be viewed by clicking on the pdf file below. Currently Waverly residents can check on Wellington's Comprehensive Plan project page at http://www.townofwellington.com/451/Comprenensive-Plan-Land-Use-Code-Update. This page includes a 7 minute on-line questionnaire link. In later summer and fall, there will be draft goals and policies presented for review and public open houses scheduled. The Wellington Planning Director, Cody Bird suggests that the draft documents and open houses will be activities Waverly residents may want to review and participate in. He also mentioned in a recent communication, that if any Waverly residents have comments or questions prior to the next public outreach, they may contact him directly at birdca@wellingtoncolorado.gov.You may also contact the Waverly Community Board with any thoughts or questions you have in the meantime by emailing waverlycg@gmail.com Many thanks.~Doug Gudenkauf, Chair, Waverly Community BoardJune 23, 2020
